Forget Hollywood—Lake Norman is officially a Netflix set piece. The Hunting Wives is coming back for Season 2, and while the series may be set in small-town Texas, locals know the truth: a whole lot of that “Texas drama” was actually shot right here in our backyard.
Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman are reprising their roles, and so is the rest of the glamorous, twisted crew. The first season gave us high hair, higher heels, and enough scandal to keep the rumor mill at Port City Club spinning for weeks. Oh, and yes—there were plenty of body bags in the finale.
The show, based on May Cobb’s bestselling novel, was a legit streaming hit. It spent five weeks on Netflix’s global Top 10 list, racking up over 20 million views. (So basically, the world was gawking at Lake Norman disguised as East Texas.)
Season 2 promises even more of the same: catty socialites, secrets spilling out faster than a White Claw at a dock party, and enough “are they the hunters or the hunted?” tension to make you side-eye your HOA meetings.
So, whether you watched Season 1 for the plot (wink), the drama, or just to spot Lake Norman landmarks doubling as Texas backdrops, now’s your chance to brag: “Oh yeah, that scene? Filmed right down the road.”
Bottom line: Netflix is back in Lake Norman’s neighborhood, and we’re here for every juicy second of it. Stay tuned—Season 2 is bound to be as wild as a Saturday night at Saeed’s.
