Lace Up for a Cause: Crosby Scholars Launches Inaugural Fall Frenzy 5K in Troutman

Get ready to run (or walk) for a great cause! The Crosby Scholars of Iredell County is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a brand-new community event — the Fall Frenzy 5K Run/Walk, happening Saturday, November 22 at ESC Park in Troutman.

This chip-timed event isn’t just about clocking miles — it’s about helping local students chase dreams of higher education. Proceeds support Crosby Scholars’ free college and career programs for more than 1,700 Iredell County middle and high school students.

Expect a festive morning filled with music, a coffee truck, face painting, post-race snacks, and awards for top male and female finishers. Runners, walkers, strollers, and even leashed pets are all welcome — because community support is the name of the game.

Registration is $35 per person, and every participant gets a commemorative event T-shirt. Businesses and individuals can also get in on the action with sponsorship opportunities ranging from $250 to $5,000 — plus the chance to cheer on runners with a custom $50 “cheer sign” displayed along the route.

“Expanding access to education and providing pathways to successful careers is an investment in the future of our community,” says Executive Director Jennifer Christian. “We’re asking local businesses and individuals to partner with us in that investment.”

So grab your sneakers, gather your friends, and join the celebration of 10 years of empowering students and families across Iredell County.
