The Huntersville Police Department has issued a media release addressing recent juvenile activity at Birkdale Village that has raised concerns among residents, tenants, and visitors.
According to the department, they are aware of the situation and understand the community’s expectations for safety and order. In response, Huntersville Police will be increasing enforcement and visibility in and around Birkdale Village, especially during peak hours.
What to Expect
HPD says you will see:
Directed patrols during peak periods
Increased traffic and parking enforcement
Proactive engagement with groups congregating on the property
Rapid response to calls for service
Continued coordination with Birkdale Village management
When violations of state law or town ordinances are observed, enforcement action will be taken.
Additional Security Measures
Police have been working closely with Birkdale Village ownership and management for several months as additional security measures have been implemented. These include:
An earlier curfew policy for unaccompanied minors
Increased private security coordination
Addition of off-duty Huntersville Police officers on Friday and Saturday evenings
It is important to note that Birkdale Village is private property. Policies such as age-based curfews are determined by property management and enforced in coordination with their security team. Huntersville Police enforce North Carolina law and Town of Huntersville ordinances and may assist with lawful trespass enforcement at the request of property management.
The department’s stated objective is clear: protect public safety and ensure residents, businesses, and visitors can access and enjoy Birkdale Village without disruption.
