Families in the Lake Norman area will soon have a new option for faith-based education as Trinity Christian Academy (TCA) prepares to open for the Fall 2026 school year in Mooresville. The new Christian academy will be located at the historic Mt. Mourne school facility at 1431 Mecklenburg Highway, bringing new life to one of the community’s longtime landmarks.

Trinity Christian Academy will serve children in Preschool (ages 2 to 4) and Kindergarten through 4th grade, offering a Christ-centered education rooted in a Biblical worldview. The school’s mission is to provide students with a strong academic foundation while encouraging spiritual growth, character development, and a lifelong love of learning.

Leading the new school is Principal Charlie Garrett, who says the academy is committed to partnering with families to create an environment where children can thrive academically, socially, and spiritually. Opening the school in the historic Mt. Mourne campus adds another layer of significance, preserving a familiar community location while creating new opportunities for local families.

To help make private education more accessible, Trinity Christian Academy will accept the North Carolina Opportunity Scholarship. The state-funded program is available to North Carolina families regardless of income, helping offset tuition costs and making Christ-centered education available to more students across the region.

As preparations continue for the fall semester, the school’s administrative office is open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Prospective families are encouraged to visit the campus, meet the staff, and schedule a personalized tour to learn more about the curriculum, admissions process, and scholarship opportunities.

The opening of Trinity Christian Academy adds another educational choice for families in the Lake Norman community and reflects the continued growth of the Mooresville area.
