Carolina Renaissance Festival Returns Near Lake Norman for 2026 Season

One of the region’s favorite fall traditions is preparing to open its gates once again. The Carolina Renaissance Festival returns for its 2026 season on Saturdays and Sundays from October 3 through November 22, bringing weeks of entertainment, food, shopping, and old-world fun to Huntersville.

Located at 16445 Poplar Tent Road, the festival transforms its wooded grounds into an immersive Renaissance village filled with more than 1,000 costumed villagers. Visitors can explore more than 140 arts and crafts shops, catch performances across 16 stages, and enjoy music, comedy, vaudeville, circus entertainment, and interactive attractions throughout the day.

Of course, no trip to the Carolina Renaissance Festival would be complete without the jousting. Three jousts are scheduled daily, giving guests a chance to cheer on competing knights as they take to the tournament arena. The festival also features falconry, mermaids, fairies, games, rides, and plenty of food, including its well-known smoked turkey legs and other festival favorites.

Each weekend brings something a little different to the village. The 2026 schedule includes special themes and events throughout the season, including BrewFest, Wizards & Revels, Celtic Music, Halloween festivities, Pirate Christmas, Time Traveler’s Weekend, and the Final Huzzah to close out the season.

For Lake Norman residents looking for fall events close to home, the festival offers an easy day trip with activities for families, groups of friends, and longtime Renaissance Festival fans. Gates open at 9:30 a.m., and parking is free. The festival is scheduled to operate rain or shine, though hours and performances may be adjusted because of weather. Organizers also recommend purchasing date-specific tickets in advance, as individual festival dates can sell out.

With eight weekends of festivities on the calendar, the Carolina Renaissance Festival adds another major tradition to the fall lineup of Lake Norman events and news worth keeping on your radar.
