Parents and caregivers looking for practical guidance and support around autism can attend a free community workshop in Mooresville this September.

Parenting Through Autism: Questions, Strategies & Support will be held Wednesday, September 16, at 6 p.m. at The Christian Mission, located at 919 N. Main St. in Mooresville.

The free workshop is presented by Pharos Parenting, Kavana Care, and The Christian Mission and will be led by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

The conversation will focus on practical topics that parents and caregivers can use at home and when advocating for their children in other settings. Topics will include evidence-based home strategies, advocating across settings and understanding the functions of behavior.

Attendees are also encouraged to bring their own questions, giving families an opportunity to discuss the challenges and situations that matter to them.

The workshop is designed as a community conversation rather than a formal lecture, providing Lake Norman families with access to professional guidance while connecting with others navigating parenting through autism.

There is no cost to attend, and pizza will be provided. Child care will not be available during the workshop.

An RSVP is not required, but organizers strongly encourage participants to register in advance so they can plan for enough food.
