Dogs of all shapes, sizes and talents are taking over Robbins Park this September.

The All American Dog Show returns to Cornelius on Sunday, September 27, from 2 to 5 p.m., bringing hundreds of dogs and their owners together for an afternoon of contests, activities and pet-friendly fun.

Hosted at Robbins Park, located at 17738 W. Catawba Avenue, the annual event will feature pet-related vendors, concessions, a pet-friendly photo booth and an agility course. Admission is free for spectators, so you don’t need to enter a dog in the competition to enjoy the festivities.

For pups ready to compete, this year’s contests include Best Dressed for dogs under and over 25 pounds, Best Owner Lookalike, Best Pooch Smooch, Best Trick, Cutest Puppy, Fluffiest Coat and Most “Ear-Resistible” Ears.

Early-bird registration is $6 per dog and includes entry into up to two contests. Day-of registration is $10, while additional contests are $3 each. The first 100 registrants will also receive a special gift.

The afternoon begins with on-site registration and check-in at 2 p.m. The Shelter Strut Kick-Off Parade starts at 2:40 p.m., followed by the contests at 2:45 p.m.

When it’s time for a snack, 5th Sin Food Truck and Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream will be on site with concessions.

Visitors are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets to settle in and enjoy the show. Whether your dog is competing for Best Trick, showing off an irresistible set of ears or simply coming along to watch, the event offers a dog-friendly afternoon for families across the Lake Norman community.
