Mooresville’s Christine Patterson Named 2026 Director of the Year by N.C. Association of Festivals & Events

The Town of Mooresville is celebrating a major honor for one of the leaders behind its growing calendar of community events.

Christine Patterson, the Town of Mooresville’s Director of Experience & Engagement, has been named 2026 Director of the Year by the North Carolina Association of Festivals & Events (NCAFE). The award recognizes Patterson’s excellence in event management, leadership, and her impact on the growth and success of Mooresville’s community events.

Patterson was specifically recognized for the award-winning growth of the Bands, Brews & BBQ Festival, one of Mooresville’s signature annual events that continues to draw large crowds and nationally recognized performers.

Her leadership has helped transform the festival into a major destination event, bringing artists such as Jo Dee Messina in 2024 and Night Ranger and Jefferson Starship in 2025 to Downtown Mooresville.

Supporting Community Events

In addition to Patterson’s recognition, deBotech, the presenting sponsor of the Bands, Brews & BBQ Festival, was named Sponsor of the Year by NCAFE.

The award highlights organizations that go beyond financial support to elevate events, strengthen community connections, and help advance the festivals and events industry across North Carolina.

deBotech’s partnership with the Town of Mooresville has played a significant role in the continued growth of the festival, helping bring larger artists and expanded experiences to the event.

Experience and Leadership

Patterson brings more than 20 years of experience in hospitality, tourism, and customer service to her role. Over her seven years with the Town of Mooresville, she has focused on building experiences that strengthen community engagement and make Mooresville a destination for visitors.

Her work has included revitalizing existing programming, securing new sponsorship support, and helping establish signature events that bring residents and visitors together.

Beyond her work locally, Patterson is also active within the events industry. She participates in conference panels, mentors other event professionals, and serves as a board member of the Mooresville Convention & Visitors Bureau, where she helps promote the town as a hub for tourism, festivals, and cultural experiences.
