Cornelius is glowing a little brighter this holiday season, and now it’s your turn to help choose the most festive home in town. The annual Cornelius Holiday Lights Contest returns, and public voting officially opens December 12–21.
From classic white lights to full Clark Griswold–level sparkle, residents across town have been busy decking the halls—and their rooftops—for this favorite community tradition. This year’s displays are bigger, brighter, and more creative than ever, and your vote will help crown the top holiday homes of 2025.

Contest Categories
Traditional
Elegant, classic, timeless. Expect garlands, wreaths, traditional lights, reindeer, nativity scenes, and the warm, nostalgic glow of a traditional holiday home.
Griswold
Bold, bright, and absolutely over the top. Think 25,000 twinkle lights, inflatables everywhere, motorized displays, music, and joyful holiday chaos—all in the name of festive fun.
What to Know Before You Vote
• Voting runs December 12–21
• Judging is based on curb appeal (street view only)
• All participating homes will be lit nightly from 6–9 PM
• Displays must remain family-friendly and politics-free
• Winners will be announced December 22 on the Cornelius website, social media pages, and in the January e-newsletter
