Sadler Square Glow-Up: Davidson’s Next Dining & Shopping Hot Spot

If you’ve driven past Sadler Square lately and thought, “Wait… wasn’t that The Egg Café and Our Town Cinemas?” — you’re not wrong. But the Davidson retail center is getting a major facelift, and the new lineup is about to make Griffith Street the place to eat, shop, and hang out.

The Big News

Chef Jim Noble is bringing not one, but TWO new spots to Davidson: Rooster’s Wood-Fired Kitchen (expect that famous rotisserie chicken and European-meets-Southern flair) and Copain Bakery & Brasserie, which will serve fresh bread, pastries, and even a full French dinner menu. Both are slated to open June 2026, and yes, Copain will totally feed your carb dreams.

What Else is Coming?

  • Renoja Wellness – offering everything from cryotherapy to red-light therapy (because Davidson deserves fancy recovery too).

  • Catawba River Outfitters – think Patagonia, ON Running, and Yeti, all in one locally owned shop.

  • Ella Blu Boutique – Hickory’s favorite women’s fashion spot making its Davidson debut.

  • Rise Modern Dentistry – because all those pastries need balance, right?

Piedmont Capital snagged Sadler Square last year for $6.1 million and decided it was time to level things up. We’re talking new plumbing, roof, landscaping, the works. Basically, the retail center that first opened in 1979 just got a glow-up Davidson-style.

By this fall, you’ll already see Catawba River and Ella Blu opening doors, with the big Noble Food & Pursuits restaurants on deck for next summer. Davidson’s retail scene? Consider it officially spiced up.
