The holiday season will come to life in Davidson this December as the Davidson Rotary Club presents the annual Giving Tree of Davidson, taking place December 3–5 from 6:00–9:00 p.m. at Davidson Village Green.
Held in conjunction with the community’s annual Christmas in Davidson celebration, the Giving Tree of Davidson offers residents and visitors another way to experience the magic of the holiday season while shining a spotlight on the nonprofits that make a difference throughout the Davidson and Lake Norman community.
During the three-night event, visitors can walk through the Giving Tree display and admire beautifully decorated Christmas trees. Each tree is decorated by a participating nonprofit and sponsored by a local business, organization or individual. The result is a festive display that showcases both the creativity of local nonprofits and the generosity of the businesses and community members who support them.
Novant Health, the event’s top sponsor, is helping make this year’s Giving Tree of Davidson possible and demonstrating its continued commitment to the Davidson community.
The Giving Tree is more than a holiday display. Each tree represents a local organization, its mission and the people it serves. Visitors have the opportunity to discover nonprofits they may not know about, learn more about their work and see firsthand how local businesses and organizations are coming together to support them.
“The Giving Tree is about bringing Davidson together during a season that is all about giving,” said Jacob Roche, member of the Davidson Rotary Club. “It gives our community an opportunity to celebrate the incredible work being done by local nonprofits while recognizing the businesses and organizations that make that work possible.”
A CALL TO LOCAL BUSINESSES AND ORGANIZATIONS
As the Giving Tree of Davidson continues to grow, the Davidson Rotary Club is inviting local businesses, organizations and individuals to become tree sponsors or event sponsors for this year’s celebration.
Tree sponsorships provide businesses and organizations with an opportunity to partner directly with a local nonprofit by sponsoring a Christmas tree that will be decorated and displayed throughout the event. It is a chance to support a cause in the community while having a visible presence during one of Davidson’s most festive times of year.
The Rotary Club is also seeking event sponsors to help support the overall Giving Tree of Davidson and ensure the event can continue to grow and provide an opportunity for even more nonprofits to participate.
“We want businesses throughout Davidson and the surrounding Lake Norman area to see this as an opportunity to be part of something bigger than just a sponsorship,” Roche said. “You’re helping a local nonprofit tell its story, you’re helping bring the community together, and you’re helping make the Christmas season a little more meaningful for everyone who comes through the event.”
Businesses interested in sponsoring a tree or supporting the Giving Tree of Davidson as an event sponsor are encouraged to contact the Davidson Rotary Club for sponsorship opportunities.
The Davidson Rotary Club encourages residents and visitors throughout the Lake Norman area to make the Giving Tree part of their Christmas in Davidson experience. Come walk through the trees, discover local nonprofits, support the organizations doing important work in the community and enjoy the holiday spirit with family and friends.
