On Saturday, May 9, 2026, Downtown Mooresville welcomed thousands of visitors for the Mooresville Day X Race City Festival, a community celebration hosted by the Mooresville South Iredell Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Mooresville in celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary. Held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the event transformed Downtown Mooresville into a vibrant destination filled with live entertainment and hometown spirit.
This combined festival allowed festivalgoers to enjoy a full day of entertainment throughout the event, including more than 50 artisans and local businesses, interactive experiences, food & beverage vendors, family friendly attractions and racing-inspired activities that celebrated Mooresville’s identity as Race City, USA.
The Family Fun Zone Presented by Discovery Point remained one of the festivals most popular destinations, featuring a Ferris wheel, ninja course, fun house, inflatables and more. Located in the same parking lot the Performance Stage served as a central gathering space where live performances from Josh King, featured on American Idol and Rob Cole, featured on The Voice , helped create an energetic atmosphere for attendees.
One of the biggest highlights of the day was the annual School Mascot Dance-Off. The high-energy competition featured spirited performances from local school mascots as they battled for the championship title in front of a cheering crowd. This year’s champion was the Langtree Charter Academy Lion, who claimed the title after an exciting and crowd-pleasing performance.
In addition to entertainment and attractions, the festival provided an opportunity for local businesses, organizations, and community partners to connect with residents and visitors while highlighting the people and organizations that help make Mooresville thrive.
