Saying Goodbye to a Lake Norman Staple: Old Town Public House to Close in January

If you’ve spent an evening in Old Town Cornelius listening to live music and sipping craft beer, you know that Old Town Public House isn’t just another bar—it’s part of the fabric of the community. After nearly a decade of serving as the town’s go-to gathering spot, OTPH will officially close its doors on January 11, 2025, as downtown Cornelius prepares for new development.

The closure marks the end of an era for one of the first entertainment venues to open in Old Town. Since launching in 2015, owner Case Warnemunde has cultivated a place where locals could connect over good drinks and great music. From open jam sessions to full band performances, OTPH has long been a hub for Lake Norman’s local music scene.

For residents, musicians, and regulars, the loss will be deeply felt. The venue became a creative and social cornerstone in Cornelius—an easygoing spot where friendships formed, bands got their start, and the community gathered week after week.

While the building’s next chapter is still being written, OTPH will keep the good vibes going until its final night. Between now and January 11, guests can still enjoy craft beer, cider, and wine, along with food trucks, live performances, and special events.
