Pickleball for Parkinson’s Event Coming to Lake Norman at The Serve in Cornelius

A community-focused wellness event designed to encourage movement, connection, and support is coming to the Lake Norman area this spring. Pickleball for Parkinson’s will take place on April 27, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at The Serve Pickleball + Kitchen in Cornelius.

Hosted by Vitality PT, the monthly meetup brings together individuals living with Parkinson’s disease in a welcoming and active environment. The event offers participants an opportunity to stay physically active, build confidence, and connect with others who understand the challenges and experiences of living with Parkinson’s.

Held at The Serve, located at 20220 Chartown Drive in Cornelius, the event will feature guided movement exercises, pickleball instruction, and time for social connection. The program is designed for all ability levels, making it accessible whether someone has played pickleball before or is trying the sport for the first time.

Volunteers will be present throughout the event to assist participants with mobility and safety, while a team experienced in working with Parkinson’s will provide support and instruction. For those new to pickleball, volunteers will teach the basics and help participants learn the game in a comfortable setting. Players with previous experience will be matched with others at a similar skill level.

The afternoon will begin with check-in and a short warm-up session lasting about 10 to 15 minutes. Participants will then enjoy approximately an hour of open pickleball play, followed by time to relax, eat, and connect with others in the Parkinson’s community.

First-time attendees are encouraged to arrive about 15 minutes early to complete waivers and check in. Participants should wear comfortable athletic clothing and supportive tennis shoes, bring water to stay hydrated, and bring their own paddle if available. A limited number of paddles may be available on-site, though rentals may be required.

The event costs $10 per participant, and advance registration is required. Registration is not considered complete until payment has been received.

Community wellness gatherings like this continue to grow across the Lake Norman region, highlighting the importance of physical activity, social connection, and supportive environments for individuals facing health challenges.

Those interested in participating or volunteering can register through Vitality PT’s website. Questions about the event can be directed to Sophia@vitalityptnc.com or Jenny@vitalityptnc.com
