A night of laughter with a meaningful purpose is coming to Lake Norman this summer as Pharos Parenting presents Stand-Up for Good on Saturday, August 29, at Cain Center for the Arts in Cornelius.
The event will bring together nationally recognized comedians, local talent, and community supporters for an evening of clean, family-friendly comedy while raising funds for child abuse prevention programs serving North Mecklenburg County and surrounding communities.
Hosting the evening is Charlotte media personality Ramona Holloway, known for her decades-long career in radio, television, and event hosting. Joining her on stage is opening act E.J. Masicampo, a Wake Forest University psychology professor and stand-up comedian who earned the title of North Carolina’s Funniest Person in 2022.
Headlining the show is award-winning comedian Eric O’Shea, whose family-friendly comedy has earned him appearances on America’s Got Talent, Comedy Central, and Dry Bar Comedy. Known for his energetic style and relatable humor, O’Shea has entertained audiences across the country for more than three decades.
The event will take place at Cain Center for the Arts, a performing arts venue located in the heart of Old Town Cornelius. Since opening in 2023, the center has become a destination for arts, entertainment, and community events throughout the Lake Norman region.
Proceeds from Stand-Up for Good will benefit Pharos Parenting, a nonprofit organization serving Iredell, Alexander, and North Mecklenburg counties. Through parenting education, in-home coaching, and family support programs, the organization works to strengthen families and help prevent child abuse before it occurs.
Guests can choose from several ticket options, including VIP experiences that feature premium seating, access to a private lounge, a pre-show meet-and-greet with performers, and drink tickets for attendees 21 and older.
For those looking for a fun night out while supporting an important local cause, Stand-Up for Good offers an opportunity to enjoy live entertainment and make a positive impact in the community. As Lake Norman continues to host events that bring people together, this evening promises plenty of laughs while helping support families across the region.
Tickets are on sale now and expected to be popular. Whether you’re attending with friends, family, or coworkers, every ticket purchased helps support programs that strengthen families and protect children throughout North Mecklenburg and neighboring communities.
