Lace Up, Give Back: Inside Mooresville’s 15th Annual Turkey Trot 5K Benefiting The Christian Mission

Thanksgiving morning in Mooresville comes with its own kind of magic — crisp air, warm community spirit, and the sight of hundreds of neighbors trotting through town for a cause that truly matters.

The 15th Annual Turkey Trot 5K is more than a race. It’s a tradition. A celebration. A chance to start your holiday with purpose before the pumpkin pie even hits the oven.

Hosted at 919 N Main St, this family-friendly run/walk supports The Christian Mission, an organization that serves more than 6,000 local individuals and families every year through food assistance, housing help, clothing, case management, and education programs. Every step you take directly helps break the cycle of poverty right here in our community.

Why the Turkey Trot Matters

Whether you’re a seasoned runner chasing a PR or someone who plans to walk while balancing a hot chocolate, you’re contributing to something far bigger. All proceeds directly fund life-changing local support — the everyday essentials many families desperately need.

Want to give even more? Bring canned goods or shelf-stable food items on race day. They go straight to neighbors in need.
