Race City USA is coming together to honor one of its own.
On Friday, January 16, the Town of Mooresville—alongside the Biffle family and close friends—will host “Burnout for Biff,” a heartfelt community tribute celebrating the life and legacy of racing legend Greg Biffle. The event will take place from 3–5 PM on Main Street in Downtown Mooresville, inviting fans, neighbors, and the motorsports community to gather in remembrance.
Greg Biffle’s name is synonymous with racing excellence. His impact stretched far beyond the track, shaping Mooresville’s identity as Race City USA and inspiring countless fans along the way. But those who knew Greg best will tell you his passion for racing was matched only by his generosity, loyalty, and deep love for his family and community.
The tribute will include a powerful moment befitting Greg’s legacy: Cleetus McFarland will perform a ceremonial burnout near Greg’s North Carolina Auto Racing Walk of Fame star—a symbolic farewell that reflects the intensity and spirit with which Greg lived his life.
Guests are also encouraged to visit the Charles Mack Citizen Center, where a special collection of Greg Biffle racing memorabilia will be on display, supported by the North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame. The exhibit offers a closer look at Greg’s extraordinary career and the milestones that defined it.
In true Biffle family fashion, the event will also highlight the importance of giving back. The tribute will recognize the family’s longstanding support of the American Red Cross and the Lake Norman Humane Society, two causes Greg, Christina, and their family championed together.
“Burnout for Biff” is more than a memorial—it’s a celebration of a life lived with purpose, heart, and horsepower, and a reminder of the legacy Greg Biffle leaves behind in Lake Norman and beyond.
