Lake Norman knows how to show up—and this weekend, it’s showing up in dance shoes.
On Sunday, January 18, Just Dance LKN is hosting Dancers Funding the Cure, a full-day community dance event benefiting the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Taking place from 9 AM to 4 PM at the Joe V. Knox Auditorium inside the Charles Mack Citizen Center, the event brings together four local dance studios for a powerful day of movement, music, and meaning.
The community is invited to enjoy a lineup of solo, duet, and trio performances, showcasing dancers of all ages and styles. Admission is free, with donations encouraged, and snacks will be available for purchase—with all proceeds going directly to pediatric cancer research. It’s a feel-good Lake Norman event where talent meets purpose and every clap supports a cause.
Just Dance LKN has long been known for creating a welcoming, inclusive space for dancers of all levels. Under the leadership of owner Tracy Self, the studio has grown into a cornerstone of the local dance community. Tracy brings more than 20 years of dance and teaching experience, with training across ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and hip-hop. A UNC Charlotte graduate and former Governor’s School for Dance attendee, she continues to give back as a regional competition judge and award-winning choreographer.
At the heart of Just Dance LKN is a simple but powerful mission: helping every dancer shine in their own way. Whether recreational or competitive, the studio focuses on fundamentals, confidence, and community—values that are front and center during Dancers Funding the Cure.
This event is a reminder that Lake Norman’s news isn’t just about what’s happening—it’s about who is making it happen. When local talent, families, and businesses rally together for something bigger than themselves, the impact reaches far beyond the stage.
